And so it has begun
I have decided to learn how to knit! AHAHAHAHAHA I heard those who know me say, I mean me seriously?!? I have ZERO patience for anything that involves concentration. But I have surprised myself thus far. I walked into my local wool shop (The Knitting Bee, Barrhead) and met Yvonne & Doreen two of the most amazing ladies ever and explained what I wanted to do and they set me up with some needles and yarn and told me to go away and practice and if I wanted to return on a Thursday night to join their knitting group I was more than welcome, If not I could just pop in anytime for help and advice. Just to clarify I can actually cast on/off and knit plain and purl I just lacked the ability to read a pattern. So away I went with my scrummy wool with the intention to make myself a scarf. I work nights and have plenty of time to sit and knit at work which I find very relaxing yet keeping the old grey matter ticking over and my eyes open. So I made my first ever scarf in a rib effect and I even managed to make some flowers to add to it and I have to say I am now HOOKED. Thursday nights are now knitting club nights and I look forward to sitting around having coffee and a natter with ladies of all abilities, getting tips and help when needed. AND there you have it my journey into the wooly world of knitting. I am plodding along nicely and as well as my scarf I have also knitted up a baby hat and I am now working on a baby cardigan and I am loving every minute of it. I do however need to get my wool buying under control as every time I enter the shop I just HAVE to buy another 2 or 3 balls :D. My intention is to post photos as I go along when I have my camera up and running more for me than anything else so that I can track my progress and also by the end of March I would like to have started and finished the cardigan for myself that at this moment in time is giving me the fear, Not sure why I am scared to try it but I will conquer it hopefully. anyway enough rabbling for now as well I have knitting to do :D
